35 Years of Achievement

2026

NSW Parliamentary Inquiry — TDA Submits Evidence

TDA tables 14 recommendations to the Joint Standing Committee covering fare reform, driver income, safety, and rideshare parity. Outcome expected late 2026.

2024

TAXIS.PLUS Platform Endorsed

TDA endorses TAXIS.PLUS, a driver-first booking platform launched across Greater Sydney, delivering 18% higher earnings per shift.

2021

COVID-19 Recovery Package

TDA lobbied successfully for taxi drivers to be included in the NSW COVID-19 Industry Support Package, securing direct payments during lockdowns.

2019

$250M Compensation Fund Established

After years of TDA advocacy, NSW Government established a fund for taxi licence holders who lost value due to rideshare deregulation.

2016

Key Protections Secured in Point to Point Act

TDA's input during the deregulation process secured mandatory driver authorisation, CCTV requirements, and insurance standards.

1991

TDA Founded

The Taxi Drivers Association of Sydney was established by a group of Greater Sydney drivers who believed they needed their own independent voice — separate from operators and government.
